Minnesota’s own Mr. Madoff

March 7, 2009

In all of this Bernie Madoff hoopla, I thought I would tell a story that I heard through the grapevine about Minnesota’s own ponzi-schemer, Tom Petters. I heard this story about his late son and did not fact-check it. The story goes that when Petters son was in high school, the school would not allow underclassmen to buy tickets to attend a certain event. He, being the sneaky, brilliant prototype of his father that he was, bought several tickets to the event and sold them to the underclassmen at a profit.

You’ve got to give him credit for finding a way to make an extra buck. Like Father, like son.
