For those of you that do not have a pounding recession headache.

March 27, 2009

The only OK thing to come from this recession is that designers are practically giving their creations away. I don’t necessarily believe this is a great thing though. As much as I want to own the quilted CHANEL bag or a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps, designer goods were never nor ever should be available to the masses. These pieces would not be so special if more than the elite could own them, (and those that have many friends, aka credit cards) . Would as many people want to own a pair of PRADA pumps if they were as available to people as are Forever 21 dresses and Gap T-shirts?

That being said, the high end virtual shelves are featuring so many wonderful deals right now for all the Blair Waldorfs and Serena Van der Woodsens of the world that are not suffereing from the recession. I thought I would show a couple of deals I have found while distracting myself from the less important tasks in my life; homework, class, etc.

 Sigerson Morrison $359

 Dolce and Gabanna $567

Love the zipper down the back. This looks like something Blair Waldorf would wear to the weekly Sunday Brunch.

One exciting piece of information: Retail sales are up 5%. Woo hoo. You can do it economy, turn around.
