Gwyneth Paltrow may be the only celebrity that doesn’t fail at everything other than her day job.

March 30, 2009

I’ve been reading about Gwyneth Paltrow’s up and coming clothing line a lot lately. Today New York Magazine’s: The Cutblog wrote on the subject and showed one of Gwyneth Paltrow’s sketches.

Take a look:

So far so good, right? I’m excited to see the full collection.

Gwyneth Paltrow may be the only celebrity that will not fail at everything other than her day job. Let’s formulate a list, shall we? There are a lot of “celebrities” that have failed miserably at their sad attempts to make an extra buck. Many of these “celebrities” are reality TV stars that are forced to make “music” and be on Dancing with the Stars because they have no better options.

But, back to this list (in no particular order of pathetic-ness).

  • Heidi Montag. Heidi Montag has had several unsucessful attempts at being a singer and clothing designer. I’m not sure which is worse: her voice, her clothing designs or her choice in men. But I am being harsh. Heidi Montag has not failed at everything she has done. She is doing quite well selling cover stories to US Weekly.
  • Lauren Conrad. Ah, onto another reality TV star. The Hills sure produces a bunch of winners. Lauren Conrad’s clothing collection has currently been put on hold, which in celebrity clothing design language means no one is buying her designs and no store wants to be associated with her over-priced t-shirt dresses.
  • Paris Hilton.Paris Hilton has failed at everything she has done. Wait, I take that back. It’s custom that L.A. heiresses make a sex tape that gets leaked onto the internet and have at least one DWI under their $600 Louis Vuitton belt. She’s a winner.
  • Victoria Beckham.Victoria Beckham’s dVb denim line has been dropped by every high end clothing store that adopted it. Victoria, go back to what you are really famous for: being married to David Beckham and of course singing in one of the best least forgotten bands of the 90s.
